Google Workspace is where the work actually happens.
Google Workspace is Google’s business suite. You get email on your own domain, and Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet and Calendar in the same account.
The parts a small brand actually uses
Workspace is large. In practice four pieces of it carry almost everything.
Email on your own domain
Gmail running on yourbrand.com instead of a free address, with an admin console for adding people and taking access back when they leave.
Drive
Shared storage where a file belongs to the company rather than to whoever happened to create it. When somebody moves on, the work stays.
Docs, Sheets and Slides
Documents several people can sit inside at once, with version history so you can see what changed and who changed it.
Meet and Calendar
Video calls and shared calendars sitting next to the email, so booking something with a supplier or an agency takes one step instead of three.
The boring one that fixes ten other things
This is not an exciting recommendation and I am making it anyway. A brand emailing suppliers, agencies and Amazon from a free address looks like a hobby, and worse, it makes handing work to anybody else painful, because every file lives on one person’s laptop.
We run on Workspace, and so does everything else under Danan Enterprises. If you are going to hire anyone at all, even a part time assistant, do this first. You will not spend the next year untangling who has access to what.
Get your business onto its own domain
It takes an afternoon and it is the foundation everything else sits on. Take a look and decide for yourself.
